“Beekeeping Educational Series: Understand your bee colony” to be held at the MSU Extension Service Office in Aberdeen, Mississippi.

These workshops are specifically for local private beekeepers that want to learn more about managing bees on their property! We will cover spring inspections, swarm management, how-to make splits, package management, integrated pest management, queen rearing, and beekeeping rules for success. Some parts of these sessions will be “hands-on” learning, so please bring appropriate clothes to check bees and/or a head veil just in case we get into a hive.

The first workshop will meet at the Monroe County Extension Office on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 6:30 PM.  Please call 662-369-4951 or 662-369-8683 to register by March 28th. Light refreshments and reference materials will be provided.

Beekeeping Educational Series Dates (all sessions will be at the local Extension office, except where noted*):
  1. March 29, 2018
  2. April 20-21, 2018 (2 day Queen Rearing Workshop)
  3. May, 2018 (*tentative)

I hope that you can find the time to join us, and you will find this educational workshop series very helpful.
