Workshop available for private well homeowners

MSU Extension along with partners, Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality and the Mississippi State Department of Health, invites Coastal Mississippi homeowners who use household wells for their water needs to attend the free workshop. Participants will learn the best management, operational and protection practices for their private wells and improving the functionality of their drinking water sources.

Well owners can pick up a sample bottle and sampling collection instructions July 3-7 and July 10-12 at the MSU Extension office in Harrison County. The first 40 registrants for the private well workshop will have their well water screened free of charge but other screenings will cost $25 per sample analysis. Screening results will be mailed to the well owner along with a publication explaining how to interpret the results.
